Activities
At the Holiday Day Camp we focus completely on nature and having good old fashion farm fun!!
Numbers dependent, we intend to divide the children into age groups.
Gr 6-7 will function as a group on their own and have their own program packed with exciting activities.
Number of children to facilitator is kept to between 18 to 20 children at most and even less with the smaller children. There is always additional adult supervision on site at Taaibosch as well.
We have first aid experienced facilitators at Taaibosch.
Our daily routine is a constant for both groups, but their activities will differ according to age:
8 – 8:15am Arrival: Please can we ask you to keep strictly to this time by not arriving early or late. Should you have an emergency, whatsapp Liezel at 062 602 3344 to make an arrangement.
8:15 – 10am: Games, morning devotions, rules & expectations, walks, bike out ride, skipping stones on the dam…..and more.
10 – 10:30am: Break for a snack, play, bike rides where possible.
10:30 – 12 noon: Morning program & free play.
12 noon: LUNCH
1pm – 5pm: Afternoon program, snack & free play.
5pm: Home time.
EVERY DAY there will be something fun to do for EVERYONE!
Our TNE (True North Experiences) facilitators are young people who are passionate about relationship, building into the next generation and being outdoors surrounded by nature and love the adventure that life throws at them. We have First Aid trained accredited facilitators onsite at any given time, numbers of the group dependent.
Our facilitators are trained to adapt to the needs of the children and the circumstances they find themselves in, and they do this with ease.
Please remember that our activities and the running of the program below depend on a number of ever changing factors. To accommodate weather, number of children present and the needs of each child, we adjust our program as required.
Some of the things we might do in a day:
- bike riding (bikes are welcome daily to ride during break times, BUT there will always be a highlighted bike ride around the farm 2 – 3 times a week
- planting
- hiking
- bakkie ride through the farm
- water fun & splash games (no swimming)
- creating with clay
- a dance in a day: line dancing
- twig boat race
- painting with mud
- And loads more arts & crafts…………..!
All we do is hugely dependent on the number and nature of the children on the day as well as the weather…especially the wind!
It is our passion and purpose to meet each child where they are at, and as a group thoroughly enjoy the day together!
PLEASE NOTE THIS PLANNING IS MERELY A FORECAST AND CAN CHANGE AT ANY TIME DEPENDING ON GROUP DYNAMICS, NUMBER OF CHILDREN & THE WEATHER!
The road beds to the left away from the farm yard towards the farm dam.
Don’t enter the first gate to the campsite (on the left right next to the dam), but drive past the site, over the hill, to the main parking entrance on the other side of the camp buildings, turn left into the camp and park.
